2007-08-04 "Black Hair: An Allegory" : The Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance, for their 8-4-07 peace rally, in Bissell Park, Oak Ridge, TN, creatively adapted a Japanese folk tale by changing the characters to animals. From Fare Martin's "Mysterious Tales of Japan", OREPA interpreted this allegory to describe how the U.S. has wandered from its ideal interests. After prostituting itself to corporate bankrolls and lust for world domination the question remains, "can the U.S. redeem itself?"

2006-08-05 to 08 OREPA August Action : Out of around 400 people at OREPA's August Action Rally,in Bissell Park,Oak Ridge,TN,there were 66 from MI, on 8-5-06. At the Y-12 gate on 8-5, out of 8 who did civil disobedience of blocking a roadway there were 3 from MI. On Hiroshima Day, 8-6, in the morning, out of around 60 people at Y-12 gate for REMEMBRANCE-Names Ceremony there were 16 from MI. That evening, at OREPA's weekly vigil at the Y-12 gate out of around 60 people there were around 10 from MI.

2005 MI folk at OREPA's August Action : Michigan sent around 106 people to join around 1000 other peace activists from around the world to Oak Ridge, TN to protest U.S. refurbishing nuclear weapons and plans to build new "usable" nuclear weapons at "Y-12 National Security Complex". The Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance did a great job organizing their 8th "August Action" for this record number of people. See www.stopthebombs.org for more information.
