2005-09-24 DAPJN buses to anti-war march in D.C. : 108 Michiganders on 2 DAPJN buses joined around 1000 from MI to help make up to around 400,000 peace activists in Wash. D.C. making this the largest demonstration in DC since this 2nd US war on Iraq began. We marched for 4-5 hours around The White House & other federal buildings, in protest of U.S. war on Iraq. The rally at the base of the Washington Monument went into the evening mostly after we headed back for a 2nd night on the buses. On Tue. 41 people (including Ron Dale & Heather Quaine) were arrested at the Pentagon in acts of Civil Disobedience around 6:30 am. Once released they got arrested a second time at The White House along with 374 others, including Cindy Sheehan and Frida Berrigan. Meanwhile many others lobbied their legislators. Karen Jacobs (David Cortright's wife and a member of WAND) was among those shown on Lehrer's Evening News, as they lobbied Sen. Lugar, of Indiana. Let's pray all this efforting really helps put an end to this illegal, immoral and impractical war!
